Enhancing Reproductive Health in Warrington
What is it and How Does it Work?
Fertility Acupuncture involves the precise insertion of ultra-fine needles at specific points to enhance blood flow and regulate hormones. This stimulation supports a healthy menstrual cycle and can improve the quality of eggs and sperm. In tandem, Chinese Herbal Medicine provides personalised herbal formulas designed to balance hormones, regulate cycles, and optimise the uterine environment. Together, these therapies work synergistically to address underlying conditions such as PCOS and endometriosis, reduce stress, and improve overall reproductive function.

History
What to Expect
Your fertility journey begins with a comprehensive consultation where we review your health history, reproductive challenges, and goals. We will discuss any ART protocols that you will be undergoing. Based on this assessment, we design a personalised treatment plan that can integrate both acupuncture and herbal medicine, if desired. Each acupuncture session typically lasts 45 to 60 minutes. Fertility acupuncture is performed using ultra-fine needles with minimal discomfort, even for those with a mild needle phobia. Alongside, you can be provided with a custom herbal formula, available in the form of teas, decoctions, or capsules, with clear instructions on usage.
Treatment Cycle & Side Effects
For optimal results, a course of treatments spanning 3 months is generally recommended. This gives time to help with egg development and to address any underlying conditions. Regular sessions allow the body to gradually rebalance and respond to therapy. If undergoing ART/IVF, this allows preparation time. Once you begin your IVF cycle, there are treatments that can be undertaken at certain stages: down-regulation; ovarian stimulation prior to egg collection; pre and post embryo transfer.
Acupuncture during these stages can help not only with the principles of the staging, but also with the side effects of the medication. Some patients can experience bloating, nausea, headaches, hot flushes, insomnia and tiredness. All of these can be addressed during your treatment in order to make you feel more comfortable.
The 2 Week Wait and into the First Trimester: acupuncture during this luteal phase may help to improve implantation and help to reduce the risks of miscarriage, as well as helping with anxiety and stress levels. Once into your first trimester, acupuncture can also help to alleviate the side effects, such as morning sickness and nausea, tiredness, the continued bloating from the medication and of course, anxiety.
